MARY ROWLANDSON and John Smith

Please tell me how Mary Rowlandson’s experiences with the Native People compares with John Smith’s experience with Pocahontas. What do we learn about the relationship between the Native Americans and the English settlers from this text? How do you reconcile this with what De Vaca said about his experiences with the native people. I suggest discussing the connection between Rowlandson and Smith in one paragraph and the comparison with Rowlandson and De Vaca in another. Be mindful that these took place in different regions, with different groups of Native people, and in different time periods. Be careful not to over-generalize. Whenever possible, use quotes from the texts to support your assertions.
