Choose one object of study from film, TV, or other media, on which you will write your research paper. Be sure to choose something manageable. For example, rather than select an entire TV series to cover, choose a portion of one season, or a cluster of episodes. The research proposal must do the following:
1) Clearly state your chosen object of study.
2) Demonstrate how the specific formal choices (such as editing techniques) are used in relation to historical examples of montage and theories of montage, or how these formal choices use fragments or engage with ideas of fragments/fragmentation. Be sure to give specific examples, such as a brief scene analysis.
3) Identify the social and moral issues that might correspond with the formal choices. 4) Formulate three questions for further research.
Due Thursday, 4/28. Printed (double sided), 1-inch margins, size 12 Times New Roman, double- spaced.
